Roomy!Mar 08, 2007
By Jeanette Stingley This bag is bigger then what you think it is. I was very pleased with the quality of this bag at the price you pay for it. I use it to carry books, lunch, and important things for work. I am very satisfied with this product.

Handy dandy toteMay 13, 2007

This bag could fit more than I had anticipated. I purchased this bag for international carry-on travel as my personal item. It could fit all of my toiletries, an extra change of clothes, and a full length fur coat in it. Great bargain, very practical, highly recommend.

Great toteMar 01, 2009
By Shibi We bought two of these totes in black -- our second purchase of two black totes. Obviously, we like them very much. We use the tote primarily to carry files to/from the office. They have a waterproof bottom section and they zip closed. They are well-made and durable. I shopped for a comparable tote around town for quite a while and ultimately, returned to Amazon for this bag because I could not find a better one for the price. These are inexpensive and a great buy. I would recommend these to a friend and I would buy them again.

This bag is great!Mar 04, 2011
By Denise Pros: 1) This bag is very roomy -- I feel like Mary Poppins with all of the stuff that I can fit inside of it! 2) It has really long straps, which is exactly what I was looking for. The longer straps make it easier for the bag to fit and stay on my shoulder. I can't tell you how hard it is to find a tote bag with long straps. 3) It's made of strong canvas material and is not a weak bag. 4) It has a zipper!! This is a perfect inclusion for klutz-types like me.
Cons (though they're really just minor complaints): 1) There is no inside lining for the bag, which is not really a big deal. Like I said, the canvas is strong, but it would be good to have extra support for the walls/bottom of the bag. I occasionally examine the seams to see if there is any splitting, but there is no evidence of that so far (I've used the bag nearly every day for two months). I could even sew my own lining into it if I really felt it necessary -- and maybe I will in the future if I find it necessary to prolong the life of the bag. 2) This is not really a con, more of just an FYI: the bag does not have an inner pocket for those little things (i.e. Girl Stuff!). At first I was a little disappointed at this fact; then I soon discovered that using a separate small bag for these things was even better than storing them in an internal pocket. I bought a cheap little bag to put all of my incidentals into, which gives me the ability to quickly move these things from bag to bag. If you're like me, you might have one tote bag for work and another for the weekends or traveling or whatnot. Having all of my little items in a small bag gives me the ability to simply toss it into my weekend bag if I need to, especially without worrying about gathering up all of the individual odds and ends and then remembering to put them all back into my work bag. So, for me, this was originally a disappointment, but now I'm like, "Internal pocket, I don't need you!" (replete with raspberry). 3) You need to be careful about opening up the zipper all the way. If you open the zipper to the very end, it tends to get stuck and not easily close because each side of the zipper splays in opposite directions, making it difficult to zip it back together. You'll have to hold the bag closed and fiddle with the zipper before it catches and closes. There are two fixes for this: never open the back all the way (leave about an inch of zipper remaining) or (what I plan to do) take a needle and thread and simply sew the zipper closed about one inch from the bottom/end of the zipper. That way, my zipper will never open fully and I won't have the problem of wasting time trying to close it.
In closing of my short novel about this bag: I love it. A canvas tote bag with long straps and a zipper? Perfect!! If you are looking for a nice, plain, professional, big (but not too big -- not I'm-a-mom-going-to-the-beach-with-ten-kids too big), secure bag to throw all of your junk into, then you have found your bag. I purchased the red one, which is very red, and I plan to use it for a very long time.

Avoid those long waits in the baggage claim area.Jan 31, 2010
By L. Ledgerwood My goal was to avoid having to check any bags when I fly. I bought this tote to use in conjunction with a small duffle bag. Now I'm able to carry-on everything that I need for a two week vacation. When I arrive, this tote functions as my everyday "purse" or "daypack". It's survived two vacations so far and still looks new. It's held up well with heavy, bulky loads (binoculars, spare shoes, full water bottle, several books). It also kept everything dry when I was caught in a rain storm. I'm really pleased that I bought it.
