This bag is as pictured, but the fabric described as eco-friendly is that bumpy thin grocery or freebie-bag type fabric. The water bottle holder will hold only a skinny water bottle, and the pen holder will hold only thin pens without any kind of grip on them. I am a teacher and carry books, pens, etc. with me. It holds, but I was surprised at the fabric. I have a few larger shopping type bags I've received free at school, but the front pockets of this bag are handier than just the large single space of the freebies.
