I was actually looking to purchase canvas bags, but settled on these because of the price. We are using them for our girl scout troop outings. The bags won't be carrying anything too heavy other than a waterbottle. I can't imagine using it for school books as the material is very thin and I don't see the stitching as strong as a backpack my kids use for school. The color is awesome though and our petals are sticking well after ironing. The girls enjoyed decorating them as well. If you are just needing something to tool around in with a notebook, reading book, and a few other light weight items they will do the trick and work nicely. I wouldn't recommend as a replacement for a good school backpack. They are large in size and are huge on our 5/6/7 year olds. Size fits better for teens & adults. We adjusted the straps by tying a knot shorter on the drawstring and cutting off the excess.

These backpacks are the perfect size for a trip to the park or to use on a cruise for day excursions. Quality was very good and the reinforced tabs at the bottom keep the strings from pulling out due to weight.

pack is nice and lightweight. Strings could be a little longer so they aren't so tight around the arms for an adult. But love the color.

I have 8 kids aged 4,6(twins),8,9,10,18,19 and wanted something inexpensive (and unbulky) to carry the items that the younger kids were going to occupy themselves on the flight and in the airports during our vacations. These worked out GREAT! They each had coloring materials and books to read. It was their "carryon" and wasnt as bulky as a "regular" backpack would have been and was easy for them to carry thru airports. It was an inexpensive solution and gave each of the kids something to be responsible for, but not a huge loss if they accidently forgot it or damaged it.

this backpack was cheap and works well. the reinforced corners make it much sturdier. my only small complaint is that after repeated use the seams on one side have loosened slightly. I will be buying from here again. shipping was also an amazing price for delivery in hawaii. perfect!
